but what exactly is the access charge and how much does it cost?
Each phone company sets its own Access Charge but they’re required to tell you what it is if you ask them. We’ve found it is often around 35p for mobile phones and a lot less from landlines.
We only receive money from the Service Charge and don’t receive anything from the Access Charge. We do everything possible to keep the Service Charge as low as possible though and at 36p it is an absolute bargain!
